USC’s Maurice Jones wins Pac-12 Player of the Week award

After three weeks, new stars are emerging in the Pac-12. The latest is USC sophomore guard Maurice Jones who won the Player of the Week award given out by the conference.
He led the Trojans (3-4) to a 2-1 record last week. The Trojans beat Morgan State 65-62 at home before traveling to the Las Vegas Invitational where they lost 66-55 to UNLV and beat South Carolina 63-60.
Jones averaged 19.0 ppg on 20-of-35 (.571) shooting from the field, drained 10-of-16 (.625) three-pointers, averaged 3.0 apg and tallied four steals.
Through seven games, Jones has accounted for 28 percent of USC’s points, which is the second most in the conference. He also averages 40.7 minutes per game, which leads the Pac-12.
Also Nominated: California’s Justin Cobbs, Colorado’s Nate Tomlinson, Oregon’s Garrett Sim,Oregon State’s Devon Collier and Stanford’s Aaron Bright.
