California suspends Richard Solomon

No. 24 California suspended sophomore Richard Solomon indefinitely because of conduct contrary to athletic department values.
Coach Mike Montgomery announced the decision today.
Solomon will not travel with the Golden Bears (6-1) when they play Sunday at San Diego State (7-2).
“We expect our student-athletes to adhere to a high standard of behavior,” Montgomery in a statement released by the school. “In this particular instance, that was not the case.”
Solomon, a 6-foot-10 forward, is averaging 6.0 points and a team-leading 7.3 rebounds. He also has a team-leading 11 blocks and is the most athletic big man on the squad.
Benching him will hurt Cal, which normally uses three-guard lineup and just seven players in the rotation.
David Kravish, a 6-9 freshman, is the most likely candidate to replace Solomon in the lineup. He averages 4.7 points and 5.1 rebounds.
