Terrence Ross takes a bite out of the Big Apple

Terrence Ross played at New York’s Madison Square Garden in high school and his reaction was “this place is smaller than I thought it would be.”
On basketball’s biggest stage, the Washington sophomore guard put on a dazzling display in Tuesday’s 79-77 defeat to No. 11 Marquette.
He finished with 19 points and nine rebounds and converted a difficult short jumper in traffic with 17 seconds left that gave UW a short-lived lead.
Despite the defeat, Ross’ 180-degree alley-oop still has folks buzzing. Freshman guard Tony Wroten Jr. delivered a pass at the rim and Ross finished the sequence with a mid-air, spinning two-hand flush against Marquette’s Darius Johnson-Odom.
The dunk was the No. 1 play on ESPN’s Sportscenter.
