Desmond Simmons to start?

Washington released the media notes for Friday’s game against UC Santa Barbara and the projected starting lineup includes redshirt freshman forward Desmond Simmons.
It must be noted this is nothing more than an educated guess from UW’s athletic communications staff, but if accurate Simmons will make his first start while replacing injured center Aziz N’Diaye.
On Monday Simmons was unsure if he’d start, but was certain his minutes would increase. He’s averaging 16.9 minutes per game this season. However, Sunday he played a career-high 32 minutes against Duke.
N’Diaye sprained his knee early in the second half. Simmons logged 17 of a possible 20 minutes in the second. He finished with six rebounds, three assists, two turnovers and two points on 0-for-3 shooting.
“I’m quite sure my minutes will increase and I’m fine with that,” Simmons said. “I know I have to be productive and do the best I can when I’m out there. … I’m looking forward to it.”
PROJECTED STARTING LINEUP:
G – Abdul Gaddy, 6-3, Jr., 8.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg., 5.1 apg.
G – C.J. Wilcox, 6-5, So., 16.5, 3.9, 1.6
