Oregon State’s Ahmad Starks wins Pac-12 POW award

Oregon State’s Ahmad Starks won the Pac-12 Player of the Week award.
In the three victories, the sophomore guard averaged 17.0 points, while shooting 16-of-30 (.533) from the field, including 12-of-16 from three-point range. He averaged 2.7 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals over the three-game span. He also went 7-for-7 in free throws for the week.
Starks led the team in scoring in two of the three games, including a 22-point performance versus Howard. He hit 5-of-6 from three-pointrange, and added four assists, three rebounds and three steals.
Starks began last week with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists in a win over Illinois-Chicago and capped the week with 17 points, hitting 5-of-8 from three-point range in the win over Portland State.
Washington nominated freshman guard Tony Wroten Jr., who tallied 23 and 27 points last week.
Others nominated include: Arizona’s Nick Johnson, Oregon’s Devoe Joseph, Stanford’s Josh Owens and UCLA’s Lazeric Jones.
