2-for-1 Holiday Sale: Pac-12 opener and Alamo Bowl

Washington explored the possibility of moving Thursday’s 6 p.m. Pac-12 opener against Oregon State to avoid a conflict with the Alamo Bowl, which begins at the same time.
Several factors prevented the time change, including contractual agreements with ROOT Sports. OSU would have also needed to agree to a new start time.
Unable to resolve the time conflict, the Huskies will provide live look-ins of the Alamo Bowl during timeouts and at halftime of the basketball game on the giant screens that hang above the court at Edmudson Pavilion.
After the basketball game, a concession stand will remain open and fans are invited to watch the remainder of the football game inside the arena.
TUESDAY MORNING LINKS:
— Another Pac-12 player decides to transfer. This time it’s Oregon State sophomore center Chris Brown, who has not played this season.
Dick Vitale includes Oregon State as one of his early surprises in the college basketball season.
— ESPN.com’s Eamonn Brennan had Washington at No. 6 in his Pac-12 power rankings.
— Standout recruit Jabari Parker is drawing interest from Kentucky. Wilcats coach John Calipari sat next to Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose and watched Parker play last week. Parker is considering UW, Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, Kansas, Illinois and a few others.
Ten former Arizona players were on active NBA rosters when the league opened Sunday. It’s the most in the Pac-12 and tied for the eighth in the nation. Washington has four former players (Spencer Hawes, Jon Brockman, Quincy Pondexter and Isaiah Thomas) in the NBA.
