Move over UW, make room for California

California climbed into a first-place tie in the Pac-12 with Washington following a 69-59 win over Stanford.
Oregon botched an opportunity to keep pace with the league leaders and was upset 76-71 at home against Oregon State.
Here’s a look at the conference standings.
Due to the unbalanced schedule, Washington (14-7, 7-2) doesn’t play Cal (17-5, 7-2) again this season. If the teams were to remain in a two-way tie at the top of the standings, the Bears would receive the No. 1 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament because they beat UW 69-66 on Jan. 19.
This season the Huskies don’t host Colorado and Utah and they miss the Bay Area trip, while Cal avoids games at Arizona and Arizona State as well as a chance to play UW and Washington State at home where they have a 14-game winning streak.
In the second half of the Pac-12 season the Huskies play: UCLA and USC at home, at Oregon and OSU, ASU and Arizona at home and on the road against WSU, USC and UCLA.
Cal’s games: Arizona and ASU at home, at USC and UCLA, Oregon and OSU at home and on the road against Utah, Colorado and Stanford.
Both UW and Cal have four home games and five on the road remaining.
In a column for Monday’s newspaper, Steve Kelley writes: “Washington seems to have the easiest path through the Pac-12.
