Joe Lunardi: UW last four in NCAA tourney

Washington made its first appearance on the NCAA tournament bracket of ESPN guru Joe Lunardi.
He projects the Huskies will appear in one of the play-in games as a No. 12 seed in the West region. UW is paired against No. 12 Notre Dame in the play-in game for the right to play No. 5 Indiana. The Omaha, Nebraska region also includes No. 4 Marquette. Washington could also face No. 1 Duke in Sweet 16 and No. 6 Gonzaga in the Elite Eight.
It’s an interesting projection.
California is a No. 9 seed and is the only other Pac-12 team on Lunardi’s bracket.
Here’s a poll we’re running on the main sports web page.

Where will the UW men finish in the Pac-12 standings?

MONDAY AFTERNOON LINKS:
— Insightful and well-written story on Jabari Parker, who is considered the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2013. He has Washington on his list and judging from this story, the Huskies would be fortunate to get him because he comes across as a terrific young man. And he’s a pretty good basketball player as well.
— ESPN’s Eamon Brennan ranks UW second in his Pac-12 rankings.
— Washington senior co-captain Darnell Gant jumped on air with KJR’s Dave Mahler. Here’s the interview.
— Mahler also talked to UW play-by-play man Bob Rondeau and Francis Williams, ROOT Sports college basketball analyst.
