Zach Banner picks USC

During a ceremony at his high school, Lakes High big man Zach Banner picked USC over Washington and Oklahoma.
This greatly impacts the football team and Bob Condotta breaks down the ramifications.
Still there’s a basketball component to this story.
Banner, a 6-foot-9, 320-pound two-way standout, said he spoke with USC coach Kevin O’Neill and plans to play hoops next season. He would have done the same thing for Washington and it’s unclear how he would have fit with the Huskies.
The Trojans can use a big man with his size. Banner is a consensus four-star recruit in football from the major recruiting sites, but he garnered just two stars from ESPN as a basketball prospect.
It will be fun to watch Banner battle Austin Seferian-Jenkins, UW’s two-sport star, beneath the basket.
