USC live game thread

IT’S OVER — UW 69-41.
ASJ — Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Martin Breunig checked in for N’Diaye and Simmons. Brendan Sherrer and Alex Wegner should start getting loose. UW 54-33, 5:30.
WHAT TO SAY — Not much has happened in the past seven minutes. Lots of missed shots. UW 46-33, 7:41.
HANGING AROUND — The Huskies led by 15 before USC used a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 10. UW 38-28, 14:15.
HARD FOUL — Blasczyk fouled N’Diaye as he was going up for a layup. N’Diaye tumbled out of bounds over a camera man and got up and went chest to chest with the USC center. Refs are back at the monitors. UW 29-23, 18:50.
SECOND HALF — Same starters.
STEVE MEET STEVE — Steve Ballmer and Steve Poole yukking it up near midcourt.
HALFTIME OBSERVATIONS — The 19 points ties a season low for a UW opponent in the first half. USC shot 9 for 30 from from the field (30.0 percent). Jackson has 12 points for the Trojans.
Wroten has nine points and Gant 8. But the biggest story in the first half has been Kemp who scored six points. Ross has just two points, but he’s controlled the glass and has eight rebounds.
The Huskies are doing just enough to win the game. Nothing spectacular. They’re not every efficient offensively. It’s as if they know they can stop USC on the other end so they’re taking some ill-advised shots.
As long as the defense holds up, the Huskies should maintain control of the game.
HALFTIME STATS — Click here.
HALFTIME — UW 29-19.

BRICK HOUSE — The Huskies are 10 for 26 (38.5 percent) and the Trojans are 7 for 24 (29.2 percent). UW 24-15, 2:45.
SHHHHH — This has got to be one of the quietest crowds in years. Blame the Trojans. They take the air out of the ball. And blame the refs. They’ve gone to the monitors twice for unknown reasons. UW 22-15, 4:10.
SLOW AND STEADY — The pace is all USC, but UW leads 22-15 with 5:08 left.
NICE APPLAUSE — Kemp left and got a nice ovation. UW 15-9, 10:35.
GOOD DEFENSE — The Huskies are on a 9-0 run. UW 13-7, 11:52.
THIRD SUB — C.J. Wilcox is in. UW 13-7, 12:26.
STRANGE CONNECTION — Gant through an alley-oop pass to Kemp for a dunk. On the next possession, Kemp scored on a soft layup. Then Gant cut through the lane and Wroten found him for a layup. After a 6-0 run, USC coach Kevin O’Neill calls timeout. UW 10-7, 14:22.
FIRST SUBS — Darnell Gant and Shawn Kemp Jr. are in for Simmons and N’Diaye. USC 7-4, 15:37.
PAC-12 UPDATE — Colorado won 72-71 on a free throw with no time on the clock. Can’t wait to see those highlights.
STRANGE PLAY — While looking at the monitors, the refs saw a flagrant one foul on N’Diaye. Not sure what he did. USC 5-4, 16:54.
LUCKY SHOT — Simmons threw up a brick that rattled in. He smiled sheepishly while back pedaling down court. The refs are checking to see if his foot was on the line. UW 4-4, 16:54.
SLOW START — The Huskies are 1 for 5 from the field. UW 2-2, 17:17.
STARTING LINEUPS: No change for UW: Wroten, Abdul Gaddy, Terrence Ross, Desmond Simmons and Aziz N’Diaye.
USC: G Alex Moore, G Maurice Jones, G Byron Wesley, C James Blasczyk and F Garrett Jackson.
MORE ON WROTEN — He’s giving every non-verbal indication that he’ll play. Going through second round of warmups. Moving good. His spirit is up.
PAC-12 UPDATES — Oregon leads Colorado 37-33 at halftime. Today’s winners: Cal, Arizona, Oregon State and UCLA.
WROTEN UPDATE — Tony Wroten Jr. is on the court and participating in warm-ups. He looks as if he’ll play.
