Arizona State live game thread

IT’S OVER — UW 77-69.
SHERRER TIME — Brendan Sherrer and Alex Wegner are in. Gaddy is the only starter on the floor. UW 77-63, 1:33.
BACK IN CONTROL — UW 73-54, 4:45.
GETTING TIGHT — The Huskies have lost their composure and most of their lead. UW 58-46, 10:32.
NOT OVER YET — ASU is on a 8-0 run. UW 54-39, 13:24.
SONICS — Detlef Schrempf is in the house. Lots of fans wearing Sonics gear. UW up 54-34, 14:20.
NICE APPLAUSE — The crowd gave N’Diaye a nice cheer after he made two free throws. UW 52-30, 16:23.
GOOD START — The Huskies force two turnovers. UW 50-26, 18:04.
SECOND HALF — Same starters.
HALFTIME OBSERVATIONS — The Huskies are shooting 61.3 percent from the field, which tells you almost all you need to know about this game. In their last two outings, UW didn’t shoot better than 37 percent.
Tonight the Huskies are receiving contributions from many places. Gant and Wilcox each have nine points. Wroten has eight, Ross seven and N’Diaye six. Gaddy has five assists. It’s a complete offensive effort.
On the defensive end, Washington isn’t doing too bad either. Arizona State has 12 turnovers that’s led to 18 UW points.
Not sure if things will change much in the second half. This is shaping to be the feel-good win the Huskies have needed.
HALFTIME STATS — Click here.
HALFTIME — Just before the break, Gant flushed a putback dunk that got everyone on their feet. UW 44-26.

N’DIAYE RETURNS — N’Diaye is back in the game. UW 40-24, 1:48.
FAST PACE — The Huskies are scoreless on their past five possessions, which includes three turnovers. It looks out of control, but Washington has increased the pace of the game and that’s got to help them in the second half. ASU can’t play at this tempo and it is being pulled into a track meet. UW 35-24, 3:05.
TURNOVER FEST — Four straight turnovers from both teams. Gaddy and Wroten each had one for the Huskies. UW 35-22, 3:57.
ASU TIMEOUT — No N’Diaye. No problem. The Huskies have gone on an 8-0 run without the big guy. Sendek called another timeout to slow the momentum. Austin Seferian-Jenkins is in. UW 35-22, 4:45.
N’DIAYE DOWN AND OUT — N’Diaye looked as if he banged knees. He went down and was helped to the locker room. Without their big man, Gaddy and Wilcox sank three-pointers. UW 33-22, 5:18.
GOTTA CATCH THAT — N’Diaye got position on Bachynski and called for the ball. Wroten whipped it inside, but it bounced off N’Diaye’s hand and out of bounds. UW 27-22, 6:54.
N’DIAYE HURTING — N’Diaye has his left wrist heavily wrapped. UW 27-20, 7:11.
ASU TIMEOUT — Coach Herb Sendek called timeout after Cain traveled. It’s ASU’s third TO in the last four possessions. The Huskies could put some distance between them and the Sun Devils if they keep at it. UW 23-16, 9:12.
ONE-MAN PRESS — Wroten is picking Lockett up at the midcourt stripe. He’s forced two turnovers in the last three possessions. ASU averages a league-high 16 TOs. UW 23-16, 9:26.
STOP THIEF — Wilcox stepped in front of a pass and raced in for a nice one-hand jam. Apparently that hip is just fine. UW 17-13, 11:40.
BAD CALL — Not sure what the ref was looking at but he gave ASU the ball when it appeared as the Sun Devils player stepped out. Romar and assistant Jim Shaw are hopping mad. The crowd didn’t like it either. UW 15-13, 12:06.
MISSED HIGHLIGHT — Wross must missed on a corkscrew dunk off of an inbound pass from Gaddy. UW 13-11, 13:47.
MORE SUBS — C.J. Wilcox and Shawn Kemp Jr. are now in. UW 13-10, 14:41.
FIRST SUB — Looks like Darnell Gant are going to check in. We got a media time out. Before the break, Simmons emphatically rejected a short shot from Cain. Again, the Huskies have started fast for a change. They don’t seem bothered by ASU’s 2-3 zone. UW 11-8, 15:45.
N’DIAYE GOING TO WORK — Good energy in the building. The Huskies are starting fast. Ross scored the first five. Wroten sank a putback and now N’Diaye is working the big man. He has two baskets. UW 11-6, 16:39.
MATCHUPS — Gaddy has Gilling, Ross is on Lockett, Wroten has Colvin, Simmons is on Cain and the 7-footers are paired against each other. Gilling has come out firing and has two three-poitnters. Ross has scored for UW. ASU 6-5, 18:01.
WILDCATS WIN — Arizona 76-72.
PAC-12 UPDATES — All knotted up in Pullman at 67-67 with 2:06 left. OSU is up 41-40 at halftime.
STARTING LINEUPS: No change for UW: Abdul Gaddy, Tony Wroten Jr., Terrence Ross, Aziz N’Diaye and Desmond Simmons.
ASU: C Jordan Bachynski, F Jonathan Gilling, F Kyle Cain, G Carrick Felix and G Trent Lockett.
SONIC BUZZ — Walked into Hec Ed and was pulled into four different conversations about today’s big arena news. Folks here seem to think it will be good for the Huskies if the NBA returns and the NHL sets up shop in Seattle. I’m not so sure. As Lorenzo Romar told me the other day, apparently there’s enough media, sponsorship, advertising and fans for everyone to share.
PAC-12 UPDATES — WSU leads Arizona 54-52 with about 11 minutes left. Stanford is up 29-23 on Oregon State late in the first half.
