Ross, Wroten NBA draft stocks are soaring

It’s been two weeks since Terrence Ross and Tony Wroten Jr. declared for the NBA draft and already their draft stocks are rising, according to various mock drafts.
When Ross announced he was leaving Washington, Draft Express projected he’d be the No. 18 choice, while ESPN and NBADraft.net had him at 19.
When Wroten left UW, Draft Express projected he’d be the No. 20th pick, ESPN had him at 23 and NBAdraft.net tabbed him at 26.
Here’s a look at the latest mock drafts.
Ross ……………………………….. Wroten
16 ………. ESPN ………………. 18
17 …….. Draft Express ……… 20
19 ……… NBAdraft.net ………. 23
While Wroten’s stock appears to be soaring, ESPN’s Chad Ford wrote: “I sense that scouts, and even more so GMs, are trying to find excuses not to draft Washington’s Tony Wroten and Iowa State’s Royce White. Both players come with significant baggage, and it seems to be weighing them down at the moment.
Of course, all of this can change with terrific interviews and workouts in the coming weeks, but we’ve made some Top 100 adjustments to reflect our latest intel.”
Ford also touched on Jared Cunningham, who left Oregon State after his junior year. Apparently some NBA folks like Cunningham’s raw athletic ability, but wonder if he’s tall enough at 6-4 to play shooting guard. He’ll need to convince someone that he’s capable of playing point guard at least in spot duty.
TUESDAY NIGHT LINKS:
— Not exactly Pac-12 related, but still pretty cool how Kentucky’s starting lineup announced as a group it was leaving for the NBA. The Wildcats give new meaning to the term Fab Five. The scary thought is coach John Calipari is reloading for next season after nabbing the nation’s top prospect in Nerlens Noel.
