Former Washington standout Justin Dentmon, the NBA D-League MVP leads the Austin Toros in the best-of-three Finals, which begins today against the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
He started in all 40 regular season games he played for Austin and ranked fourth in the league in scoring while averaging 22.8 points.
Dentmon, a 6-0, 185-pound guard, also averaged 5.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 37.2 minutes. He led the team in scoring 24 games and was the assist leader 26 times.
He received two NBA call-ups this season and spent time with San Antonio and Toronto. He appeared in six games, averaging 4.3 points, 1.7 assists, 1.3 rebounds and 15.2 minutes.
Dentmon is playing his second season in the D-League. Last season he played 50 games with the Texas Legends and averaged 19.1 points and 4.1 assists.
Dentmon left Washington in 2009. He was voted first-team all-conference Pac-10 and received the league’s Most Improved award.
