UW takes summer trip to Europe and Africa

Washington is taking a 15-day, seven-game trip to Europe and Africa that begins in August.
The Huskies will spend time in Spain, France, Monaco, and Senegal during their two-week basketball excursion.
“We’re playing some of the highest level teams internationally,” coach Lorenzo Romar said in a statement released by the school. “We will play against some very tough competition. We’re playing to win, but you’re also trying to get better so you always want to play the best.”
The Huskies depart Seattle Aug. 25 and fly to Barcelona, Spain where they will stay for five days and play two games. On Aug. 29 they travel to Nice, France for three days and two games and on Sept. 2 UW flies to Paris for four days and two games.
Washington will spend four days between Sept. 5-8 in Dakar, Senegal which is the home of junior center Aziz N’Diaye. The Huskies will play a game in Africa and participate in several basketball clinics. They return to Seattle Sept. 9.
The summer trip allows Washington to conduct 10 practices before departing.
