Jabari Parker playing in Portland

Jabari Parker, who many consider the best high school player since LeBron James, is playing tonight in the Rose City Showcase at Lewis and Clark College.
The 6-9 forward plays for Mac Irvin Fire out of Illinois and is scheduled to face Drive Canada at 6:40 p.m.
He’s the biggest attraction at the three-day tournament, but he may only play Friday because he’s scheduled to report to a Team USA camp Sunday, according to the Oregonian.
Parker is being recruited by several schools including Washington.
Last month he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated (right).
Friends of Hoop and Seattle Rotary Select, a pair of Seattle-area based teams, are also playing in the tournament.
The teams are led by Bothell High point guard Zach LaVine and Garfield High shooting guard Tucker Haymond respectively. After Parker, LaVine might be the biggest star at the tourney with scholarship offers from UW, UCLA, Louisville, Gonzaga and Washington State while Haymond reportedly has an offer from Seattle University.
IN OTHER NEWS:
— Former UW star Tony Wroten Jr. competed yesterday at the NBA combine. You can see him in this ESPN3 video (he’s wearing No. 11) while he works out with the point guards. The analysts break down his game at the 49:30 mark in the video. Former UW standout Terrence Ross is wearing No. 24 and he’s featured at the 1:10 mark.
