Former Washington center Spencer Hawes (far right) just completed his fifth season in the NBA. A first-round pick (No. 10 overall) by the Sacramento Kings in the 2007 draft, Hawes was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on June 17, 2010, in a three-player deal.
A Seattle Prep grad, he led the Panthers to the 2006 3A state championship and was named a McDonald’s All-American.
Hawes played one season at UW — averaging 14.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 1.74 bpg — before declaring for the NBA draft.
In five pro seasons with the Kings and 76ers, he has averaged 8.5 ppg and 5.8 rpg.
Hawes will be available to answer your questions in a live chat at noon Thursday on seattletimes.com.
