Terrence Ross receives green room invite

Former Washington standout Terrence Ross is one of 14 NBA draft hopefuls invited to sit in the green room, which is a pretty good indication that he’ll be taken in the lottery.
However, Rashard Lewis knows being invited to the draft is no guarantee of being taken in the first round.
Still it’s a pretty big achievement for Ross, who draft observers say was a late addition and likely replaced for Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger. The Buckeye big man had a poor workout at the NBA combine and was medically red-flagged by the NBA because of back issues.
NSCC SUMMER LEAGUE REPORT
— Washington newcomer Mark MacLaughlin flushed a breakaway Statue-of-Liberty dunk and drained several long shots while entertaining fans Monday at the North Seattle Community College Summer League. He played against a team led by Seattle University guard Sterling Carter.
— Husky senior Abdul Gaddy paired against Anrio Adams, the Kansas recruit, and Andrew Andrews and Shawn Kemp Jr. were on hand to play in the nightcap.
MONDAY NIGHT LINKS:
— Coach Lorenzo Romar said he’s happy for Tony Wroten Jr. and Ross, who will be likely be taken in the first round of the Thursday’s draft. Still he acknowledges UW wasn’t as prosperous as it could have been with the former stars. Romar said: “I think it’s a positive for everybody involved. One player is a one and done, the other is a two and out. If they had been with us a little longer, it would really be exciting times. But they were able to do well enough for the league to recognize them and possibly draft them in the first round. There’s nothing wrong with that, but of course, we wish we could’ve done a little more while we had them.”
— Cal assistant Jay John has moved off the bench and is now an assistant athletic director for basketball, a new position in which he’ll interact with donors and former players.
— Former WSU center Aron Baynes was named to the Australian Olympic team.
