Report: UW lands 7-foot Belgian center

The Los Angeles Times is reporting Gilles Dierickx, a 7-foot center from Belgium, is transferring from Florida International and will join Washington.
UW has not confirmed the report.
Dierickxx will most likely need to sit out the 2012-13 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
He appeared in 29 games for FIU last season and started 15. He averaged 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds. He shot 48.6 percent (34-of-70) from the field and 80 percent (8 of 10) from the free throw line.
Here’s his bio at FIU.
And here’s an interview (below) he did with the LA Times.
It looks as if Dierickx will take UW’s last remaining scholarship and will join University of San Francisco transfer Perris Blackwell on the bench all season. They’ll add size to the front line in 2013 when senior Aziz N’Diaye leaves.
