Roy returns to NBA, Hawes signs extension

Pretty big week for a pair of former Huskies.
Spencer Hawes re-upped with Philadelphia and signed a two-year, $13 million extension on Wednesday.
And Brandon Roy, who retired last season due to a chronic knee injury, is returning to the NBA. He agreed to a two-year, $10.4 million deal with Minnesota.
THURSDAY NIGHT LINKS:
— Former Rainier Beach star Jamal Crawford is on the move. He left Portland after one year and has reportedly agreed to a long-term deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Kansas officially added Rainier Beach standout Anrio Adams, the Associated Press 3A state player of the year. The 6-3, 180-pound guard averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game in leading Rainier Beach to a 3A state title with a 27-3 record last season. KU coach Bill Self said: “Anrio has been committed to us since the fall. We elected not to sign him until he tightened up everything academically. He has done that and we’re very, very excited about having him here. He’ll take classes this summer session and will be able to participate beginning immediately in all the workouts that will proceed from this point forward.”
