Aaron Gordon, who is being recruited by Washington, was one of the stars at the Under Armour Elite 24 all-star game held Saturday in Venice Beach, Calif.
The 6-7 forward from San Jose, Calif. finished with 25 points on 12-of-18 shooting and seven rebounds while leading his team to a 164-138 victory. He entertained the sun-drenched crowd with several awe-inspiring dunks (see below) in a game that consisted of very little defense.
Gordon (pictured on the left) was one of four players to win MVP honors.
Before the game, he told ESPN he plans to take official visits to UW, Arizona, Oregon, Kansas and Kentucky. He also plans to make an unofficial trip to California.
Jabari Bird, another UW target, also starred on Saturday. Before the game, the 6-6 shooting guard from Richmond, Calif. talked to ESPN about the four schools on his list. His top four includes UW, Cal, Oregon and Colorado.
“With Cal, they have been recruiting me the longest. I have been there so many times since they are so close to me. I feel comfortable there but it would also be nice to get away for a while” said Bird pictured right.
“I want to get up and down and utilize my skills the best way I know how. If I can get in the open court and run a bit, then that will help my team because it makes me a bigger threat” Bird said. “That is what I like about Washington and Colorado. Both of them run it up and down the court and get open shots based on their style of play. ”
Oregon is is attractive because of its style of play and Bird’s former AAU teammate Dominic Artis is a freshman point guard for the Ducks.
Here’s a pre-game breakdown of each player.
