Washington training camp opens Friday

Wanted to pass along a quick note and some links for the weekend.
Washington begins training camp 5 p.m. Friday. In past years, the Huskies held a three-day training camp at The Evergreen State College in Olympia.
This year they’ll hold the first workout on campus and the first 20 minutes is open to the media.

Rob Dauster at NBCSports.com identified Stanford and Colorado as 10 teams on the rise.
— It doesn’t appear as if the stalemate between the Pac-12 Networks and DirectTV before the start of the college basketball season.
— It’s a little old, but Jason McCleary at Left Coast Recruiting caught up with Aaron Gordon who talked about lats week’s trip to Washington. He said: “It’s always sunny in the gym. Seattle is a great city, beautiful, and full of things to do,” when asked would the weather play a role in your decision and how do you like the Seattle area? Gordon is expected to take a trip to Kansas on Oct. 12. He’s already had an official visit to Oregon and plans to make visit Arizona (Oct. 21) and Kentucky.
— Kudos to Stanford and coach Johnny Dawkins for seemingly coming out of nowhere and making the final five list for Jabari Parker, the nation’s No. 1 recruit in ESPN’s rankings.
Sean Miller gave reporters an glimpse of the Arizona Wildcats.
