Share: Comments Print November 6, 2012 at 2:05 PM Shawn Kemp Jr. to miss 6-8 weeks Posted by Percy Allen Washington sophomore forward Shawn Kemp Jr. has a torn patella tendon and will be out 6-8 weeks. The injury will not require surgery. He’s expected to return around the start of the Pac-12 season in January. “It doesn’t impact that rotation, but it impacts a guy that was turning the corner,” coach Lorenzo Romar said. “An offensive weapon. We thought he was really playing good. He had become probably our best low-post threat in terms of big. It takes away from what we were doing early.” Romar said the injury has been progressive and not the result of an accident in workouts. Romar did not reveal who will start at power forward, but said the candidates include Desmond Simmons, Jernard Jarreau and Martin Breunig.
