Guess the UW Score: Washington State

Here’s a reminder to join the fun and play our Pick & Roll contest. The grand prize at the end of the season is $200.

As for our little Guess the UW Score contest, well all we have to offer is hot dogs and soft drinks and the next big winner is jdke. He predicted Connecticut would win 61-59 and Washington lost 61-53.

Nice job. Contact me for your prize.

Let’s move on.

TODAY’S PAC-12 SCHEDULE:

UCLA won 68-60 over Stanford

No. 3 Arizona led Utah 30-23 at halftime ………….. P12N

Washington (8-5) at Washington State (9-4), 6:30 p.m. …… ESPNU

California (8-5, 0-1) at USC (6-8, 1-0), 8 p.m. …………………. FSN

AND THE UW-WSU WINNER IS …

The Cougars 64-60.

Las Vegas oddsmakers make Washington State a 4.5-point favorite, which seems about right. However, they put the over/under at 129 and that feels a little high. The scores have been low during the first week of the Pac-12 season, which tends to happen when conference play begins.

In their last meeting, both teams combined for 114 points in UW’s 59-55 win in Pullman.

Just don’t see a blowout either way today because the teams are similar in talent at most positions. Both teams have a player who is capable of a big scoring night. UW has C.J. Wilcox and WSU has Brock Motum.

If the game was played in Seattle, then the Huskies would likely be favored. But they haven’t proved they’re capable of going into a hostile environment and remaining composed to pull out a tough win. WSU has played well at home and could have upset No. 10 Gonzaga before falling 71-69.

A victory would be the biggest win for either team.
