Video: Desmond Simmons

Here’s video of post-game comments (above) from Desmond Simmons following Washington’s 65-60 win at Stanford on Saturday.

The 6-7 sophomore forward surrendered three inches to Dwight Powell, but he did a decent job containing the 6-10 Cardinal forward. Powell finished with 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting. He also had five rebounds.

However, Simmons came up big defensively in the final minute. Leading 62-60, Powell missed a short jumper over Simmons and center Aziz N’Diaye.

Playing in front family and friends, the Vallejo, Calif. native collected 13 rebounds. It’s the sixth time he’s had double-digit figures in rebounding. He also have had five boards on the offensive glass while playing a game-high tying 36 minutes.
