Reports: Jahmel Taylor commits to UW
Several media outlets are reporting 2013 point guard Jahmel Taylor, a senior at Pacific Hills High in Los Angeles, verbally committed to Washington today.
The 5-11, 160-pound guard is rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com and Rivals.com. ESPN.com gave him two stars.
He had offers from Long Beach State, UC-Santa Barbara and Fresno State. He also received interest from Colorado, USC and Washington State.
According to the Los Angeles Times, coach Lorenzo Romar attended Pacific Hills’ game in LA today. After Taylor scored a game-high 26 points in a 77-59 victory, he committed to the Huskies.
Taylor averaged 20.8 points last season at Sierra Canyon High in Chatsworth, Calif.
Washington signed guards Nigel Williams-Goss and Darin Johnson. The Huskies have extended a scholarship offer to San Jose highly touted forward Aaron Gordon.
Here’s some video of Taylor.
