Stanford junior forward Josh Huestis won the Pac-12 Player of the Week award after recording a pair of double-double performances to lead the Cardinal in two victories at home against the Oregon schools.
He led Stanford with 14 points in a 75-52 victory over then-No. 10 Oregon. It was the Cardinal’s first upset of a top-10 opponent since 2008. Huestis shot 6 of 9 (.667) from the field, 2 of 3 (.677) from the free throw line. He also had 13 rebounds and three blocks.
Huestis capped the week with 16 points, 13 boards and a career-high four assists to lead Stanford in an 81-73 win over Oregon State. It was just the fourth double double of the season for him.
Washington nominated senior center Aziz N’Diaye who also had two double-double performances last week. However, the Huskies split their games. They beat Arizona State 96-92, but lost 57-53 to then-No. 8 Arizona.
Others nominated include: Arizona’s Solomon Hill, Arizona State’s Jahii Carson, California’s Richard Solomon and Utah’s Jason Washburn.
