UW falls in RPI; Zags climb to No.1 in polls

In the wacky world of the RPI, winning isn’t everything. Exhibit A: Washington.

The Huskies defeated Washington State 72-68 on Sunday, however they fell nine spots in the RPI to No. 83.

Here’s where the other Pac-12 teams rank: Arizona(13), Colorado (29), UCLA (31), California (43), Oregon (50), Stanford (72), USC (89), Arizona State (94), Oregon State (186), Utah (187) and Washington State (192).

Meanwhile voters in both national polls agree Gonzaga is the No. 1 team in the country, which is a historic achievement for the program.

AP pollsters included three Pac-12 teams in the rankings: Arizona (18), Oregon (19) and UCLA (23).

Two Pac-12 teams are among the top 25 in the coaches ranking: Arizona (18) and Oregon (25).
