Darin Johnson, Zach LaVine highlight hoops showcase

Washington incoming freshmen Darin Johnson and Jahmel Taylor headline the lineup in the inaugural West Coast All-Star Classic, which will be played 6 p.m. Saturday May 11 at the ShoWare Center in Kent.

Zach LaVine (UCLA) highlights a list of Seattle players committed to playing in the hoops showcase including: D.J. Fenner (Nevada), Tucker Haymond (Western Michigan), Marquis Davis (Santa Clara) and Seth Berger (UMASS).

There’s 22 players high school seniors committed to play including: Elliott Pitts (Dublin, CA/Arizona), Hallice Cook (Jersey City, NJ/Oregon State), Jordan Matthews (Santa Monica, CA/California), Kameron Williams (Baltimore/Ohio State) and Dakari Allen (Sacramento, CA/San Diego State).

Here’s a look at the rest of the rosters: Gabe Bealer (Lancaster, CA/Santa Clara), Soma Edo (Richardson, TX/Fresno State), Calvin Hermanson (Lake Oswego, OR/St. Mary’s), Torren Jones (LaPorte, IN/Missouri),  Eric Mika (Highland, UT/BYU commit), Marquis Davis (Seattle, WA/Santa Clara), Brandon Randolph (Inglewood, CA/Xavier), Gavin Schilling (Henderson, NV/Villanova), , Trey Washington (Dallas, TX/Wyoming) and Ja’Keem Yates (Charlotte, NC/Undecided).

Players will participate in a slam-dunk and three-point competition Friday May 10 at Rainier Beach High School.  Proceeds benefit the Rainier Beach Foundation.
