Huskies begin summer basketball tonight

The Northwest Collegiate Summer League, which features several Washington players, begins tonight at North Seattle Community College.

Games are Mondays and Wednesdays until August 12. Start times are 6, 7, 8 and 9 p.m. on Monday and 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Here’s a look at the season schedule. Admission is free.

This is the third year for the NCAA-sanctioned league which consists of college and high school seniors from the Pacific Northwest.

Ten Huskies are scheduled to play this summer.

C.J. Wilcox, who is still recovering from left foot surgery to stabilize a stress fracture, is not expected to play in the NW Collegiate Summer League. Perris Blackwell, Desmond Simmons and walk-on Dion Overstreet are also not listed on rosters.

Incoming freshman Nigel Williams-Goss is training with the USA Basketball U19 World Championship team that will compete in the FIBA U19 World Championship in Prague, Czech Republic. The tournament runs June 27 to July 7.
