MONDAY LINKS:

— It’s a little old, but interesting to note the redesigned floor at California’s Haas Pavilion (right) is gaining appeal among Golden Bears fans. I think it’s bold that’s for sure. And it’s not as ostentatious as Oregon’s Matt Arena. Wouldn’t be surprised if other schools follow a similar pattern.

Andy Glockner at SI.com included Washington and Oregon on its honorable mention list when ranking the top 20 programs in the nation. On UW, he writes: “A program that has a lot going for it, and for years was one of the bellcows on the West Coast. Performance has been a bit down lately, with some question about how much longer Lorenzo Romar will remain there if it doesn’t get back to expected standards. Romar’s been solid overall, but it feels like the Huskies have left something on the table during his tenure, as well.”

— Glockner believes Arizona is the only national title contender in the Pac-12.

— California junior guard Justin Cobbs, who suffered a right foot fracture in August, should be available at the start of the season.

— Arizona State sophomore guard Jahii Carson and Arizona freshman forward Aaron Gordon were tabbed second-team preseason All-Americans by the Sporting News.

— Here’s a scouting report on UCLA.

— Nice column from CBSsports.com’s Gary Parrish on the NCAA transfer rule.

— Looks like future NCAA Final Fours will remain in domed stadiums.
