Nigel Williams-Goss makes Bob Cousy list

Washington’s Nigel Williams-Goss has been named to the initial group for the Bob Cousy Award Watch List that was announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

The 6-4, 185-pound freshman Goss is one of 46 Division I players on the list, which recognizes the top point guard in men’s college basketball.

The freshman from Happy Valley, Ore. starred at high school powerhouse Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev. the past four years. He played in the McDonald’s All-American game and Jordan Brand Classic after averaging 18 points, seven assists while leading Findlay to a 35-1 record. Williams-Goss compiled a 124-8 mark at Findlay, including national championships as a freshman and junior.

There are seven Pac-12 players on the list, which will be narrowed down to 20 in February and five in March.
