C.J. Wilcox, who scored 16 points in Washington’s 95-65 exhibition win over Central Washington, has touted newcomer Perris Blackwell for weeks. He said the Huskies’ new big man would make the game easier for everyone, particularly UW’s guards.
Well, Wilcox proved prophetic Wednesday night after Blackwell scored a team-high 21 points and collected nine rebounds.
“I love it,” Wilcox said. “You throw it inside or into the high post and you know something good is going to happen, and we haven’t had that in the past.
“I think the offense is going to work more for us than it did last year.”
