Video: Washington players after 86-72 defeat to UC Irvine

Here’s video (above) of senior co-captains C.J. Wilcox and Perris Blackwell who addressed the media following Washington’s 86-72 defeat to UC Irvine.

Wilcox, who had a game-high 24 points, said the Huskies had several defensive lapses.

Blackwell, a transfer from San Francisco, finished with nine points on 4-for-11 shooting and five rebounds in his first game with the Huskies. The 6-9 forward was no match for 7-6 UCI center Mamadou Ndiaye.

Blackwell said the Huskies will need to play better defense without forwards Jernard Jarreau and Desmond Simmons.

“Somebody else is going to step up, and we’re going to change it,” Blackwell said. “It’s just oneĀ game.”
