Stanford’s Chasson Randle won the Pac-12 Player of the Week award after averaging 20 points and shooting 46 percent from the field in a pair of games last week.
The junior guard led the Cardinal to a 53-51 win on the road at then-No. 10 Connecticut when he scored a game-high 22 points on 8-for-16 shooting and collected five rebounds. The victory snapped UConn’s 54-game home winning streak against non-conference teams.
It would have been a truly banner week for Stanford and Randle, however, his last-second, game-tying three-pointer against Michigan came up a little short and the Cardinal lost 68-65 to Michigan in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitationa at Barclays Center in New York. He finished with 18 points and four rebounds.
The Huskies did not nominate anyone this week.
Other Pac-12 players nominated include: Arizona’s Aaron Gordon, Arizona State’s Jermaine Marshall, Colorado’s Josh Scott, Oregon’s Jason Calliste and UCLA’s Kyle Anderson.
