Morning links: Several Pac-12 tune-ups today

The morning is always better after a win, even a win like Washington’s 95-80 victory over Mississippi Valley State.

Here’s a look at a photo gallery from Times photographer Lindsey Wasson and one from the Associated Press.

Here’s the highlights and post-game wrap-up with Kevin Calabro and Don MacLean.

And here’s the game stories in the Associated Press and the News Tribune.

SATURDAY MORNING LINKS:

— Washington State is relying heavily on three freshmen (Ike Iroegbu, Que Johnson and Iowa State transfer Jordan Railey) to make major contributions.

— The only weakness with No. 1 Arizona has been its shoddy 67.2 percent shooting at the free throw line and relatively small bench production.

With Dominic Artis back, Oregon has the deepest perimeter in college basketball.

— Colorado will play in the 2014 Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu next Christmas.

— Should be a fascinating matchup today at the Wells Fargo Center when 7-2 Arizona State center Jordan Bachynski meets 7-6 UC Irvine center Mamadou Ndiaye.

— The St. Katherine College Fightin’ Firebirds, a team that’s in its first year of college basketball, lost by 83 points Friday night at San Diego State. Today they play at Utah, which should be another blowout win for the Utes.

— Utah junior center Marko Kovacevic, who just recently returned to practice following a broken wrist, is considering redshirting.
