No better way to cap the year than with a win. Washington closed the 2013 portion of the season with a 73-67 nonconference victory over Hartford and will ring in the 2014 portion of the season Thursday at Arizona State in the Pac-12 opener.

— No. 12 Oregon, that national scoring leader, increased its average to 90.8 points per game following a 97-76 win over Morgan State. Joseph Young scored 24 points for the Ducks (12-0) who are off to its best start since going 13-0 in 2006-07. Richard Armadi had a season-high 16 points in his first start of the season and Dameyan Dotson added 15.
— Stefan Nastic scored 20 points and Dwight Powell added 15 as Stanford used its big front line to clobber Cal Poly for a 79-62 win. The Cardinal improved to 9-3.
— USC led Howard by four at the break, but turned it on in the second half breezing to an 82-60 win. Byron Wesley led the Trojans (9-4) with 20 points, scoring 14 of them in the second half. J.T.Terrell returned from a seven-game academic suspension and had 18 points.
— Angus Brandt (knee) returned from a two-game absence and scored 21 points to lead Oregon State over Quinnipiac 76-68. Roberto Nelson added 17 points for the Beavers (8-4) and Hallice Cooke scored 12.
