Statistically, Delon Wright had a better two-game stretch two weeks ago when he torched Washington for 27 points and 11 rebounds and dropped 14 and 7 on Washington State. However, Utah lost both games.
On Monday, the 6-5 junior guard won the Pac-12 player of the week award after averaging 17 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 4.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in a pair of wins last week over then-No. 25 UCLA and USC.
Wright capped the week Saturday with 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists while leading Utah to a 74-69 upset over the Bruins at the Huntsmen Center. It was Utah’s first win over UCLA since 1983.
During an 84-66 rout over the Trojans, Wright led the way with 22 points, including going 10-of-11 at the free-throw line, along with six rebounds, six steals, five assists and two blocks.
