Morning links: C.J. Wilcox standing on doorstep of greatness

For today’s advance, we took a look at C.J. Wilcox who is set to enter an exclusive fraternity at Washington we dubbed the 1700 Club. Had a chance to talk to Husky greats Chris Welp, Bob Houbregs, Jon Brockman, Quincy Pondexter and Eldridge Recasner for this story. They all called Wilcox the greatest shooter in UW history.

SATURDAY MORNING LINKS:

— The Oregonian previews today’s game between Washington and Oregon State with a really big picture of Beavers coach Craig Robinson and several interesting facts to set up the contest.

— Arizona Sate will retire the No. 5 jersey worn by former Sun Devils star Eddie House. He joins Joe Caldwell, Byron Scott, Lionel Hollins and Fat Lever in the Wells Fargo Arena rafters.

— After a terrific start, Colorado is in serious danger of missing the NCAA tournament. The Buffaloes are 1-3 without injured star Spencer Dinwiddie.

— In case you missed it, earlier this week ESPN’s bracket expert Joe Lunardi updated his 2014 NCAA tournament projections, which includes six – count ‘em SIX – Pac-12 teams.

— Oregon’s postseason fate is also in jeopardy after a five-game losing streak. The defensive fix still eludes the Ducks.

— No two ways to slice it, Utah is just plain bad on the road.

Joshua Smith, the former Kentwood High standout who played at UCLA, is academically ineligible at Georgetown.
