For the second straight week, an Arizona State player received the Pac-12 Player of the Week award.

Senior guard Jermaine Marshall picked up the honor on Monday after senior center Jordan Bachynski won last week.

Marshall matched his career high of 29 points, going 11-of-23 from the field and 4-of-8 from three-point range to lead the Sun Devils in a 69-66 double overtime win that upset No. 2 Arizona at Wells Fargo Arena.

Marshall scored eight of the team’s 12 points in the second overtime. He added five rebounds, an assist and a steal while also going 3-of-6 from the free-throw line. It was the highest-ranked opponent Arizona State has ever beaten at home and just the second time ASU has beaten a top-two team.

Marshall, a transfer from Penn State, has 10 20-point games on the year, including six in Pac-12 play. His 16.2 scoring average is tied for eighth in the conference. Marshall will receive postseason all-conference honors. Star sophomore Jahii Carson and Bachynski are near locks to make the 10-player, first team, but it’ll be interesting to see if three ASU players will receive postseason honors.

ASU (19-6, 8-4) is tied for third place with California in the Pac-12 and two games behind first-place Arizona with six remaining.

Other players nominated for the player of the week award include: California’s Justin Cobbs, Oregon’s Joseph Young, Stanford’s Anthony Brown, USC’s Byron Wesley, UCLA’s Kyle Anderson and Washington State’s DaVonté Lacy.
