Video: Nigel Williams-Goss on Pac-12 tournament

Here’s video of Monday’s press conference with Nigel Williams-Goss who talks about Washington playing Utah in the first round at the Pac-12 Tournament on noon Wednesday.

And here’s a partial transcript from the interview.

(On watching the Pac-12 tourney last year) “I loved it. I thought it was a great move to switch to the MGM. Obviously I had never been to the one at the Staples Center, but just watching it on TV it looked kind of empty a lot of the games besides the championship. But when you had it at the MGM, it’s a little bit smaller venue but the atmosphere is crazy and it’s a really nice venue.”

(On the Pac-12 awards) “Obviously being C.J. (Wilcox) teammate I think there’s no question he’s one of the best players in the conference. In my personal opinion, he should have made first team, but he has no control over that. It was an honor to make first team (all-freshman). Any time you’re recognized for your play and hard work, it feels good. So I’m thankful for that.”

(On the freshman of the year race) “I think I gave myself a legitimate chance to win that award. Aaron (Gordon) is a good friend of mine so I’m definitely happy for him. He’s had a great season. But I think obviously for what I accomplished, the award could have went either way.”
