C.J. Wilcox earns postseason honors

C.J. Wilcox is starting to rack up the postseason honors.

C.J. Wilcox is starting to rack up the postseason honors.

C.J. Wilcox is among five players to earn NABC first-team All-District 20 honors.

The Washington senior guard is joined on the team by Arizona’s Nick Johnson, California’s Justin Cobbs and UCLA’s Kyle Anderson and Jordan Adams. The second-team All-District 20 selections include Stanford’s Dwight Powell, Arizona State’s Jahii Carson, Utah’s Delon Wright, Arizona’s Aaron Gordon and Stanford’s Chasson Randle.

The teams are selected and voted on by member coaches in the NABC.

Wilcox also captured first-team USBWA All-District IX accolades. The 10-man team includes Adams, Anderson, Carson, Gordon, Johnson, Arizona State’s Jordan Bachynski, Oregon’s Joseph Young, San Diego State’s Xavier Thames and UC Santa Barbara’s Alan Williams.

Johnson was selected the USBWA All-District IX player of the year and Arizona’s Sean Miller earned the coach of the year.

The postseason honors for Wilcox follow Monday’s snub when Pac-12 coaches left him off the 10-man all-conference first team. He was chosen to the five-man second team.

“It’s very mind-boggling how he couldn’t be on the first team,” coach Lorenzo Romar said. “I don’t understand that one.”
