Morning links: UCLA could lose two more players to NBA

UCLA underclassmen Kyle Anderson and Zach LaVine have declared for the NBA draft, while Bruins sophomore guard Jordan Adams and junior guard Normal Powell are considering turning pro.

Adams and Powell have applied for a draft analysis from the NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee, which consists of general managers and player personnel executives.

Per NCAA rules, college basketball players who do not declare for the draft and who do not hire an agent must withdraw their name from consideration by April 15 to retain their college eligibility.

However, the NBA stipulates underclassmen have until April 27 to apply for early-entry to the June 26 draft.

Adams and Powell join a handful of Pac-12 that also includes Washington freshman guard Nigel Williams-Goss who are contemplating turning pro.

MONDAY MORNING LINKS:

— According to Matt Prehm at 247 Sports, Washington hosted 2014 prospect Kevin Ndahiro, a 6-8 forward from Ottawa, Canada, over the weekend. However, it appears as if he left without committing to the Huskies and is expected to visit Florida this week. Oregon is also reportedly interested in Ndahiro. Washington currently has one scholarship available for the 2014-15 season.

— A handful of recruiting websites are reporting Washington is expected host 2015 prospect Jeremy Hemsley, a 6-4 guard from La Verne, Calif., next weekend. He’s ranked No. 52 on ESPN’s top 60 list and considered a four-star recruit by ESPN, Scout, Rivals and 247 Sports.

— Oregon State junior forward Eric Moreland announced via Twitter that he’s leaving school for the NBA draft. The 6-10 forward missed the first half of the season due to suspension. He averaged 8.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and two blocks per game in 20 games. Moreland’s departure is a devastating blow to the Beavers, who also lost seniors Roberto Nelson, Angus Brandt and Devon Collier, the team’s four leading scorers.

— California’s coaching search enters Week 3 on Monday and the Golden Bears are seemingly not close to finding someone to replace Mike Montgomery, who retired March 31. The San Jose Mercury News reported Xavier’s Chris Mack and Eric Musselman, the former Golden State Warriors head coach and Arizona State assistant, are no longer candidates.
