During a joint press conference Tuesday afternoon, Aaron Gordon and Nick Johnson announced they’re leaving Arizona and entering the NBA draft.

Gordon, a 6-9 freshman forward, is considered a lottery pick while Johnson, a 6-3 guard, is projected as a second-round pick.

Coach Sean Miller said he ‘whole heartedly’ supports their decision.

Miller also announced freshman wing Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, sophomore center Kaleb Tarczewski and sophomore forward Brandon Ashley will return next season.

“I love these guys so much,” Gordon said. “But at the end of the day, I need to make the decision that’s right for Aaron Gordon, just like before I came to Arizona. I have a great foundation, my parents, my mom and my dad, my brother and sister. I’ve talked to them a lot. I talked to the coaching staff and my players and made sure everything was good to go.

“From about the first grade, I have wanted to compete at the highest level. So that’s what I intend on doing next year. I am going to go to the NBA.”
