Sophomore guard Darin Johnson is one of several players vying to replace C.J. Wilcox, Washington’s leading scorer the past two years who was taken in the first round of the NBA draft this summer.
Johnson averaged 5.9 points while shooting 35.9 percent from the field. He was accuracy dropped off on three-pointers, connecting on 13 of 54 (24.1 percent).
Johnson appeared in 31 of 32 games, but was unable to crack the starting lineup. He’ll likely contend with Mike Anderson and Quevyn Winters for Wilcox’s old spot.
