Lorenzo Romar adds Tiffani Walker to staff

Washington hired Tiffani Walker as director of men’s basketball operations.

She spent the past seven months as an attorney for the DIRECTV Sports Network in Seattle.

“We’re very excited to have Tiffani join our staff,” coach Lorenzo Romar said in a statement released by the school. “She is an exceptionally bright, innovative and creative individual. She brings a lot to the table that will help our program continue to grow and develop.”

It’s a historic hire for Washington. Walker is first female to join the men’s basketball staff and she’s the only female on the staff of a Pac-12 men’s basketball team.

Walker played soccer at Illinois (2000-03) where she received a BA in communications. She worked in the media relations staff at the Seattle Seahawks (2004-06) and Houston Texans (2006-08).

She received her law degree from the University of Houston in 2011.

Walker replaces Lance LaVetter who left to join the coaching staff at Seattle University.
