Game report: Washington 76, Pacific 69

WASHINGTON 76, PACIFIC 69

PLAYER OF THE GAME

Husky senior forward Shawn Kemp Jr. finished with a career-high tying 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting.  He also had four rebounds.

PLAY OF THE GAME

Late in the first half, Nigel Williams-Goss dove for a loose ball and wrestled it away from a Pacific player before flipping a pass down court to Andrew Andrews who raced ahead for an uncontested fast break layup that gave Washington a 36-28 lead just before the break.

TURNING POINT

Washington led 66-61 with less than two minutes left when freshman wing Donaven Dorsey sank a three-pointer near the top of the key that pushed the Huskies lead to eight (69-61). Washington went scoreless on three possessions before Dorsey’s basket.

BY THE NUMBERS

5 — Fouls for Washington sophomore center Robert Upshaw who was disqualified. He didn’t commit a foul in the first two games.

24 – Points for Pacific guard T.J. Wallace who led all scorers.

40 – Rebounds for Washington, including 13 on the offensive glass.
