PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Frank Rogers sat out last season after transferring from San Francisco. He leads San Jose State in scoring averaging 11.7 points per game.

Jordan Baker also sat out last season after transferring from Pepperdine. He’s second on the team averaging 11.0 points.

Rashad Muhammad led San Jose State in scoring last season while averaging 13.2 points off the bench. The sophomore guard is still a reserve this season and he’s averaging 10.5 points. Muhammad is the younger brother of Minnesota Timberwolves guard Shabazz Muhammad, who played one season at UCLA.

OVERVIEW

— San Jose State is averaging 59.3 points on 38.2 percent shooting and is allowing 68.7 points on 39.9 percent shooting. SJSU is averaging 18 turnovers.

— The Spartans won their opener against a NAIA team before losing the next three, including a 63-44 loss to Pepperdine.
