The only thing standing between No. 13 Washington (11-0) and its best start since 1975 is Stony Brook.

Both teams should be well rested and maybe a little bit rusty for today’s 5 p.m. game at Alaska Airlines Arena. The Huskies had a six-day layoff after a lackluster 66-57 win over Tulane on Monday that included a season-high 18 turnoveres. The Seawolves last played Tuesday.

It’s the final tuneup for both teams before the start of conference play next week.

Stony Brook (7-6) is essentially a two-man team that relies heavily on junior forward Jameel Warney and junior guard Carson Puriefoy. They’ve led or were the co-leading scorers in 12 of 13 games for the Seawolves.

Meanwhile, the Huskies have had seven players lead them in scoring.

Stony Brook is a good nonconference opponent because the Seawolves are tabbed to win the America East conference and they could make the NCAA tournament this season.

Stony Brook also isn’t very good on the road. The Seawolves are 0-6 on the road this season. They’re 0-3 all-time against the Pac-12 and they haven’t beaten a team from a power 5 conference since upsetting Penn State 59-51 on Nov. 17, 2006. They’re also 0-13 against ranked opponents since joining Division I in 1999-2000, with all of those defeats taking place on the road.

Las Vegas established the Huskies as a 13.5-point favorite.

THE PICK: Washington 79-62.
