Huskies hoops links: Looks like three Pac-12 teams headed to NCAA tourney

CBSsports.com bracket guru Jerry Palm had been a staunch advocate for the Huskies while championing their merits for inclusion in the NCAA tournament.

However for the first time in months, Palm’s latest NCAA tourney projections did not include Washington. He listed UW among the first four teams not making the tournament.

Here’s a look at the Pac-12 teams in Palm’s projections: Arizona (2-West in Portland), Utah (5-East in Portland) and Stanford (10-Midwest in Pittsburgh).

And here’s a look at the Pac-12 teams in ESPN’s Joe Lunardi’s NCAA tourney projections: Arizona (2-West in Portland), Utah (4-South in Portland) and Stanford (7-East in Pittsburgh).

Let’s take a look at a few more college basketball measuring sticks.

Arizona (6) and Utah (13) are the only Pac-12 teams in the Associated Press rankings.

Meanwhile, the USA Today/coaches rankings is in agreement on Arizona (6), but feels a little better about Utah (11).

Here’s how the Pac-12 teams stack up in the latest RPI ratings: Arizona (4), Utah (11), Stanford (31), UCLA (64), Oregon (70), Washington (77), Oregon State (87), Colorado (99), California (113), Arizona State (119) and Washington State (131).

And here’s the Pac-12 rankings according to basketball statistician Ken Pomeroy: Arizona (3), Utah (6), Stanford (29), ASU (51), UCLA (54), Oregon (77), OSU (81), Colorado (83), Washington (86), Cal (143), USC (166) and WSU (193).
