Lowe needs more surgery

This wasn’t exactly a shock, but a pair of doctors looking over Mark Lowe’s MRI exam results have decided he needs more arthroscopic surgery on his elbow. An MRI taken last week found scar tissue buildup that Lowe assumes is the reason he cannot extend the elbow enough. The surgery will clean the tissue out and, he hopes, enable him to eventually start a throwing program.
“They’re just going to go in there and look,” Lowe said after today’s workout here.
The team had the choice of a second surgery, or trying to correct the problem through a more aggressive rehabilitation. Lowe is to have the surgery Thursday or Friday in Los Angeles and will likely be set back another three weeks. He now does not expect to be back until at least June.
